Welcome!

Acupuncture works to help maintain your body’s equilibrium.  It involves the insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the body. Acupuncturists believe that this regulates the flow of ‘qi’ (pronounced ‘chee’), your body’s vital energy.

Many people come to acupuncture for help with a specific symptom, pain or condition.  Some use acupuncture because they feel generally unwell but their doctor can find no obvious diagnosis.  Others choose it to help maintain good health or just to improve their sense of wellbeing.

Acupuncture originated in China and other far eastern cultures where it still features in mainstream healthcare, both as a stand-alone therapy and in combination with conventional western medicine.  It is now widely used and accepted all over the world.  In the UK more and more people are finding out what acupuncture can do for them.

Welcome to this site about traditional acupuncture at the Pioneering Care Centre, Newton Aycliffe, in the north east of England.
